Have you made a Lasting Power of Attorney between 1 April 2013 and 31 March 2017? If you did and you paid for this to be registered through the Office of the Public Guardian you may be eligible for a refund of part of the registration fee. The Government launched a scheme on 1st February to refund some of these costs and you may be entitled. We will be contacting those of our clients who may be affected by this shortly to provide information on how to make a claim.
In the meantime, if you think you may have paid too much, you can follow this link to the Government website where all the details are there to make your claim. Please note this this not affect Lasting Powers of Attorney made since 31 March 2017 when the fee was reduced.
